Prairie Flower Casino has voluntarily contributed more than $3.8 million to the City of Carter Lake since opening;
A $25,000 cash drawing on October 28th will cap a weekend of anniversary promotions
(CARTER LAKE, Iowa) — The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska this weekend will celebrate the fifth anniversary of the opening of Prairie Flower Casino, which officially opened its doors on November 1, 2018. Along with special promotions throughout the weekend, the casino will celebrate with a $25,000 cash giveaway to a guest on Saturday, October 28th at 10 p.m
In addition to attracting millions of visitors to Carter Lake, Prairie Flower Casino has voluntarily contributed more than $3.8 million to the City of Carter Lake to support police, fire, infrastructure, and general community improvements. Prairie Flower Casino employs nearly 100 individuals, and proceeds from the Prairie Flower Casino continue funding critical services for Tribal members like expanded healthcare, job training, cultural preservation, and social services. The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska also uses proceeds from the Casino to donate to charitable causes throughout the region.
“In the five years since opening, Prairie Flower Casino has been an economic catalyst for Carter Lake and the Omaha region, generating millions to be contributed to worthy causes and allowing our Tribe to expand services for our members,” said Ponca Tribe of Nebraska Chairwoman Candace Schmidt. “With construction underway for Prairie Flower Casino’s expansion, we are confident the best it yet to come.”
Prairie Flower Casino broke ground on Phase II late last year. The expanded Prairie Flower Casino will include:
- 600 slot machines, electronic table games and video poker devices
- A full feature sports book with a gastro pub
- Multiple dining options
- A featured center bar
- Retail space
The Prairie Flower Casino has made a positive impact on the greater Carter Lake region since
opening, including:
- More than $60 million in jackpots have been awarded to guests.
- Guests have won more than $1 million in jackpots in each of the past 30 months.
- Nearly 2 million visitors have made Prairie Flower Casino their entertainment destination. This represents a visitor count that is approximately 526 times larger than the city’s population.
- More than $9.5 million in products purchased from local vendors, supporting jobs within the
